There have been mixed reviews regarding this hotel so we had a mission to suss this place out by ourselves and were delighted to see that the bad press was all wrong. This two star family run Venice accommodation is owned by Leonardo and Maria Teresa who run a really efficient hotel. It's in a great part of Venice, only a 15 minute walk to St Mark's, close to the Rialto Bridge and the vaporetto stop at Ca d'Oro.

There are two parts to this hotel, a newly developed annex and main building that house the original hotel. There is no lift in the main building but it’s only two floors. The annex is made up of two apartment buildings on either side and only a few minutes walk from the main building. All the rooms we saw were large, very clean and comfortable looking, just what you’d expect from a family run hotel. Great value for a hotel in this part of the city.

Most of the rooms come with en-suite, telephone, satellite TV, safe and air-conditioning but you can pay less and have a room with a shared bathroom. Breakfast is included.
