Every once in a while we come across a fantastic hotel that begs to be included within our reviews and this Venice hotel is one of them. Built in a 13th century Gothic Palace the Hotel Antico Doge is situated only minutes from the Rialto Bridge and only 5 minutes from the vaporetto stop at Ca d'Oro. Adorning the walls are huge mirrors, silks and masks and the building has high ceilings with wooden beams and is decked out in lovely antique Venetian furniture. This hotel is a dream and for the price of a reservation; a fantastic deal.

Some of the suites open out onto a small canal and have ceiling to floor windows that open out onto a balcony. If you’re on a romantic weekend then you couldn’t do much better than stay here. All the rooms are en-suite and come with satellite TV, air-con, telephone, safe, mini-bar and Internet connection for those people that can’t leave their work behind.
