Venice's Hotel Ca' d'Oro overlooks the Rio di Ca' Dolce and is a perfect place to relax and admire the views overlooking the canal.

We dropped into this Venice hotel on our way to check out Piazza San Marco and had a very friendly guy called Marco showing us around. The Hotel Ca' d'Oro is a beautiful establishment and is decorated much as it should have been in the 13th century [ well, + electricity and running water ]. We were shown around one of the hotel's standard double rooms and were taken back by the views across Venice's Rio di Ca' Dolce. All the hotel rooms have satellite colour TV, telephone wall safe, air conditioning and the suites... are fitted with a jaccuzzi [ jee, do we love those ].
