Staying in luxury never comes cheap, but with the Boscolo Grand Hotel dei Dogi, we might all be able to stretch our budget to stay in this beauty. We had an impromptu appointment with the dei Dogi on our first morning in Cannarregio Est. Firstly, being in and around San Marco can be noisy but the hotel is situated away from the bustle and bustle in an nice quiet area just off the Grand Canal. The hotel also provides a free boat service to San Marco which beats walking.

Arriving in the beautiful lobby was an experience as was being escorted around by one of the friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. The rooms do vary in size but all are elegantly decorated, in a Venetian style, airy and very clean.

It was snowing when we were there in February, but the hotel has beautiful gardens with spectacular views of the lagoon that's open for the spring and summer seasons.
