For those of you wanting to be close enough to the centre of Berlin without having to stay in the thick if it, you could do a lot worse that choose the Hotel Aldea. As accommodation in Berlin goes, this 4* hotel is top notch for cleanliness, service, friendliness and price. We dropped by announced in the morning and were greeted by a friendly girl behind the reception who took us on a grand tour of the place. This is a modern hotel and with all modern hotels it lacks a certain ambience but you do get the luxury and comfort that many people look for.

It's a little walk [ 15 mins ] to the centre but the U-Bahn is only 3 minutes walk away which is ideal if you want to utilise utilising a cheap 3-day rail card you can get from any of the stations.

All the rooms are large, clean and come with the standard en-suite bathroom, TV, mini-bar, internet access and safe. If you don't sleep much, there are many cafes and bars open late in the local area.
