We had one night's reservation in Berlin's Arcotel Velvet. If the name conjours up boutique hotel then tou are not far off from the truth.

Set right in the heart of fashionable and very cool Mitte, you'll have fun checking out all the funky boutiques and fun restaurants in the area. Our room was facing a courtyard, which wasn't just quiet at night there was also some fantastic graffiti and sculptures opposite that come from the Tacheles gallery nearby.

This is a really cool place and excellent quality price ratio. Hurry though, being new, this hotel is still great value but it won't be long before they realise that their onto a good thing.

All the 85 large rooms come with the usual 4* amenities.
