On the Northwest coast of Sicily only 80 km from Palermo in the Province of Trapani, lies San Vito lo Capo. With only 4000 inhabitants San Vito lo Capo is one of the sleepiest fishing villages we've been to and also one of the most beautiful and after a long strenuous week in Sicily [yeah right!!] San Vito lo Capo was to be our resting place for the next two days.

San Vito lo Capo faces out towards a bay, which extends from S.Vito to the cape of Solanto at Mount Monaco. The water is a clear turquoise colour, the beaches golden and if you want to switch off, eat some of the best seafood and sample some the Sicilian hospitality at it's best then this is certainly the place.

Like everywhere in Sicily the influence of different cultures is reflected in the food but in San Vito lo Capo you have to try the fish couscous , it's out of this world.
