Staying at the Hotel Clarion Saint James Et Albany in Paris is a real treat and one we can thoroughly recommend even if we weren't so lucky enough to stay in one of the beautifully decorated rooms here. However, we had the next best thing, a guided tour by a friendly girl behind the reception.

This Paris hotel can't be in a better location if you want to sample the delights around this chic address. It's opposite the famous Tuileries Gardens and you'll be greeted with a magical view of the Eiffel Tower and Champs-Elysées if you walk just 2 minutes up the road. Cafes, Restaurants and shops are littered on everything street corner and it'll difficult to pull yourself away from the area.

The hotel itself is luxurious and given that it was a formal palace residence, it's charming, spacious and extremely comfortable. The rooms we saw had all been renovated and were kitted out with the usual 4* amenities. If you fancy taking it easy after a hard days sightseeing there's also a spa to ensure you can relax those aching limbs and prepare for the next day's credit card carnage.
