A
night out in Barcelona doesn't start before midnight. The Spanish party
hard so be sure to keep your energy for the night because you'll surely
be going until the early morning. Most people head for Las Ramblas in
the early evening but there are many hidden delights in the ancient
Gothic
Quarter [or Barri Gotic].
You'll find the coolest clubs in the Port
Vell and Port Olimpic areas, where, without any neighbours, there's
no excuse to stop. Why not spend time on the beach during the early
evening and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere while drinking a cold beer.

Aurora: [C/Aurora 7, The Raval, Barcelona] A wierd and eclectic mix of people gather until dawn at this cool and slightly bizaare bar. It's a good pre-club party place with a fun-loving and arty crowd. Drink cocktails and listen to a wild mix of music.
El Xampanyet: [C/Montcada 22, Barcelona] Only open until 11.30pm, El Xampanyet is a shrine for old and the new. With a great ambience, fantastic tapas and cavas by the bottle, you can't help but love this place.
Danzatoria Tibidabo: [Av Tibidabo 61, Barcelona] Open until 3am, Danzatoria Tibidabo is the place for the cool and trendy of Barcelona. Dress to impress otherwise you ain't coming in. Techno, rap and good bumping house fill the rooms of this suburban hillside premises and you won't regret making the trip. Not to be mistaken for Club Danzatoria down by the port which is owned by the same people.
Lupino: [Calle Carme 33, Barcelona] Cool and trendy restaurant/bar with DJ tucked away in the Ramblas. Lupino's is a nice place but we thought it looked a bit tired and dated. However, the cocktails are great and the music was half decent.
La Fira: [Provenza 171, B/D1, Barcelona] Seeing is believing at this bar. A wierd mix of fairgound attractions, mirrors and swings make this place an experience to remember. Go on a Friday or Saturday to get the best out of this place.
Baja Beach Club: [pg. maritim 34 ciutadella
vila olímpica Barcelona 93. 225-9100] Originally from Holland, the Baja
Beach Club is one of the most pleasant and kicking nights you can have
in Barcelona. Right on the beach, you can mingle with the topless barmen
and bikini waitresses or if you're priviledged enough join the growing
ranks of VIP's and get an electronic chip implanted under your skin
that allows free entry and access to a debit account for drinks at the
bar - very strange buts lots of fun.

Abaixadors Deu: [Barceloneta, The Born & La Ribera Barcelona 93 2681019] This club is a trendy yet relaxed place where people come to chat and listen to good musicw. The scene here is definately low key where jazz, ambient, lo-fi and pop. If you're lucky you'll catch one of the special nights when famous DJs play music in tune with the style of the club. Admission is free.
Chikita: [Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes
770, 93 2681019] Definately not for the homophobic, Chikita is for those
people that want to make the night last forever. It's open in the morning,
midday and afternoon and is a mixed crowd of gay, transexual, transvestite
and straight. Techno and Progressive music played by the resident DJs
Yugu and Ioordee fill the rooms.
